About Chopta Chandrashila Deoria Tal Trek

Chopta Chandrashila Deoria Tal Lake trek is the gateway to witness the vibrancy of the Himalayas. The region is pleasantly warm during the summers and extremely cold and hazy during the winter season. The trek includes jaw-dropping views, lush green forests, and mountains calling out to you. Bird watchers, photographers, nature lovers are all in for a treat as this trek is for everyone and doesn't fail to impress you with the adventures that await in stores for you. The first stop is at the Deoria Tal which is at an elevation of 7800ft above sea level and is surrounded by forests. After spending the night in Deoria Tal, the next stop is at Chopta, and at a further distance away, peaks of Bandarpoonch, Kedar, and Chaukhamba are visible and this view is even more worth the trek as it gets enhanced at the apex of the Chandrashila summit.

Summers

Chopta sees a large crowd during the summer season. People wanting to escape the heat of the cities to feel the cold soothing breeze of the mountains, come running to hill stations. Thus, Chopta is a hotspot during the summer season. One can find lush green mountains and serene views during the summer months from March to May. Thus the best time to visit Chopta is from March to May.

Monsoon

Chopta experiences monsoon between the months of July to September when the region experiences very heavy and frequent rainfall. Although there is very little rain by the end of September, the region provides a breathtaking view of the valley.

Winters

Although summers see heavy traffic, Chopta isn’t any less beautiful during the winters. The same destination that looks lush green during the summers, looks very dry during the cold months of November and December.

The nearest airport from Chopta is Jolly Grant Airport at a distance of 226km in Dehradun. There are also bus services available from the airport that take tourists to Chopta.

Chopta by Road

Chopta has a well-connected road network with the major cities of Uttarakhand. The nearest cities are Srinagar and Rishikesh which are connected with the bus terminal in New Delhi thus several busses are also available.

The nearest railway station from Chopta is at a distance of 202 km in Rishikesh.

Things To Carry

ID PROOF: Carry a valid ID proof issued by the government.
