Pauri Garhwal is a district that is the most scenic place in the Garhwal region in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, headquarters is in the town of Pauri. It is also sometimes referred to as Garhwal district but the Garhwal region is larger it shouldn’t be confused. Pauri Garhwal is known for being naturally unique and exclusive. The Nayyar river decides Alaknanda is the major river of the district as well as major tributaries of Alaknanda which is the confluence of eastern and western Nayyar at Satpuli. Dudhatoli Trek which is 3100m above sea level and 24km by trek from Pauri bus stop i.e Thalisain.
The Tara Kund trek is 2200 m above sea level.
The trek trails begin through a very rich forest of Oaks, Pine, and Deodar which is also picture perfect.

Best Time to Visit in Pauri Garhwal

The ideal time to visit Pauri Garhwal is during Summer as well as at the beginning of the winter to experience the stunning beauty and can also enjoy the pleasant weather all year round. Monsoon not advisable to visit or perform activities like trekking since there has a chance of sudden landslide. The best time to visit is during the month from March to June and September to October.

The nearest Airport to Pauri Garhwal is Jolly Grant i.e in Dehradun since there is no airport. One can hire a taxi to proceed directly to Pauri Garhwal which is about 133km (4 hours) from the airport.

The nearest railway station will be Kotdwara Railway Station which is about 101 km (3 hours) from Pauri Garhwal which is well connected with several cities. One can hire a cab/taxi to reach Pauri Garhwal and further can reach Rishikesh too.  One can hire a taxi to proceed directly to Pauri Garhwal.
