About the Askot

It is a beautiful place located in the Didihat Tehsil in the Pithoragarh District of India state Uttarakhand, situated at an average elevation of 1,106 m above sea level, located on the Gori Ganga- Kali river which is geographically divided.  along with vale profound and enchanting forest tracts. It is known for its unique bio-system that constitutes charisma in many ways. Askot was ruled by several rulers and it has two-part i.e Malla Askot and Talla Askot. The name Askot is derived from AssiKot meaning 80 forts. It is a place of magnificent beauty and awesome waterfalls as well as famous for Askot Musk Deer Sanctuary. Apart from the famous Wildlife Sanctuary this place also has famous pilgrim places nearby.

Trekking is an outdoor adventure activity for those who want to experience the feel of Nature and soak into it. Askot is a small place that has a famous Askot must deer sanctuary and along with the views of the Himalayas range which sited on the lap of the Himalayas. Trekking in askot is a great Opportunity and is quite famous for taking a breath at a high altitude after exploring a long chain of mountains. One forgets the worn out of walking a long way after encountering lush greeneries, fresh Blizz year that blew towards and backward, a view from the peaks, and cozy climate, and many other enthusiastic things.

Best time to Visit Askot

Astok in Summer (April - June)

May is the hottest month in the year of Astok but  April to June is the best neither hot nor not very cold pleasant for enjoying the clear blue sky and a glimpse with a temperature between 7℃ to 30℃ which is the epitome for summer vacation as well as nearby temples.

Astok in Monsoon (July - September)

July and August will experience the heavy rainfall experienced with temperatures varying 30°C and 17°C along with capricious rainfall and landslide but will be very gratifying on the day and chill at night. So Plan my Package will not advise visiting here during monsoon.

Astok in Winter (October -March) 

The coldest month are December and January which the temperature precipitately slumps from -1°C and 0°C to 14°C. And the snow falls starts from January which will be incredibly great experiences traveling along with the chill blow of wind along with nature.

How to Reach Askot

Askot by Air

The nearest airport to reach here is Naina Sani Airport, Pithoragarh which is 60kms and has connectivity with major cities. International tourists can travel from Delhi airport directly, one can hire taxis from the airport to proceed directly to Astok.

Askot by Train

The nearest train station is Tanakpur Railway Station which is about 200 km and Haldwani Railway Station about 230 km, once can hire a taxi or bus to reach here.

Askot by Road

There are two routes to reach i.e Tanakpur route and the Haldwani route which is about 220km. One can hire a taxi to travel here along with the greenery realm. Tourists visiting from Delhi can take a bus from ISBT leading to askot, Pithoragarh passing neighboring locations which are about 460 km.

  • Clothing: Warm clothing (Down Jacket/Fleece Jacket, Woolen Cap/Scarf, Hat, Lowers, Woolen & Cotton Socks, Thermal Wears), Cotton Towels, Trekking/Hiking shoes & other comfortable regular wears.
  • Toiletries: Lip Balm, Wet Wipes, Skin Moisturizer, Sunscreen.

Cancellation Policy: In the event of cancellation of tour / travel services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reason/s we must be notified of the same in writing to cancellations@planmypackage.com. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows :

  • Booking Amount is Non-Refundable
  • From 30 to 44 days prior to arrival: 50 % of the Total Trip Cost
  • From 15 to 29 days prior to arrival: 75 % of the Total Trip Cost
  • From 0 to 14 Days prior to arrival or No Show : 100 % of the Total Trip Cost

Note: Written cancellation will accept on all working days, except Sunday, Any cancellation sent on Sunday's will be considered on next working day (Monday).

In case of any adverse weather, natural calamity, local issues or Government orders, or any unforeseen circumstances happens during the Trip, Our Team would try at their level best to execute services as per itinerary but in case of it not happening, no refund would be processed. If in case, Trip couldn’t be started due to such unavoidable circumstances before starting of it, PlanMyPackage would issue a voucher for 100% of the amount which can be redeemed within 12 months from the voucher issuance date.
