For many years, Tuljapur has been a wonder of a pilgrim centre, with an ever-increasing influx of tourists and devotees. The Tulja Bhawani Temple in Tuljapur is the most well-known attraction, which explains why this small village attracts such a large number of pilgrims. The name of the town was changed from Chinchpur to Tuljapur in honour of Goddess Tulja Bhawani, the deity in whose honour the massive temple was built.
