"It is located in the very northern part of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. Simlipal derived its name from the very common Simul Tree which is in Bengal. It is commonly popular among people due to its Tiger Reserve and national park. Simlipal is blessed to have a large variety of flora & fauna. During 1973 it became an essential part of the Tiger project. The area of Simlipal is the largest wildlife sanctuaries of India. It is not only home to Tiger's population but also elephants, Barking deer, Sambar deer, the leopard can be seen. Here one can also find Santhal tribe settlement bordering the Simlipal, which is a complete mixture of the complete ecosystems such as the flora, fauna, and human habitat. The project Mugger Crocodile Scheme was also launched here in 1979 in this place. It is purely nature's bliss."
