rudraprayag

rudraprayag

This is a municipality and town in the Rudraprayag District of Uttarakhand, India. It is regarded as a sacred town and one of the 'Panch Prayag,' or confluences of the Alakananda River. This is the confluence of the Alakananda, Mandakini, and Kedarnath rivers. Jim Corbett, a well-known poet and naturalist, once wrote about the man-eating leopard' that was discovered in the Rudraprayag area. The earthquake that struck Nepal in 2013 severely damaged much of this beautiful place, especially the bridge over the Mandakini River that leads to the Kedarnath Temple.
