Porbandar is a historic Gujarati port city. It is widely referred to as Gandhiji's birthplace because it is located on the coast of Kathiawar. Porbandar's attractions include the Porbandar Bird Sanctuary, Miyani Beach, Barda Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, Kirti Mandir, and Porbandar Beach. Gandhiji's and his ancestors' home, Kirti Mandir, has been converted into a museum. Another museum, the Bharat Mandir, houses Indian sculptures and paintings. This forest is home to a number of wild animals as well as diverse flora. This forest is home to a number of butterflies, lions, chinkaras, sambars, spotted deer, spotted eagles, and crested hawk-eagles, among other birds and animals.
