Pobitora is a Wildlife Sanctuary in the state of Assam on the bank of river Brahmaputra in the district of Morigaon. It is just 50 km from the city of Guwahati Government declared Pobitora as a wildlife sanctuary in the year 1987. Pobitora wildlife sanctuary has the highest population of one-horned rhinoceroses in the world. The reserve is also supported by two Critically Endangered, four Endangered, eight Vulnerable and three Near Threatened bird species.
