It is a hill town which is situated in the state of Tamil Nadu. Kodaikanal means "gift of the forest". It is set in an area where one can enjoy the forested valleys, lakes, waterfall and grasslands. Just at a height of 2000meter above the mean sea level, there is man-made star-shaped Kodaikanal Lake which is surrounded by evergreen forest. It is often referred to as "Princess of Hills" as it is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in Tamil Nadu during summers. The earliest residents of this place were the Pelaiyar trial people. It is a less crowded destination.
