Jaisalmer is a town in the western part of Rajasthan state. The town is famous for yellowish-brown stone and was established by Rawal Jaisal in 1156. During the 12th century, Jaisalmer town was on the success of its power but early in the 14th century, its prosperity declined, after the gear of the capital by Muslim Delhi Sultan Alauddin Khilji. In Jaisalmer, Mughal supremacy was established and the city entered into political relations with the British in 1818 and 1949 it joined the state of Rajasthan.
