Balarampur is a municipal bord in Balarampur District and also a city of Uttar Pradesh. It is placed on the bank of Rapti. Balarampur city known because of the close territory of Shravasti, where Lord Gautam Buddha showed his power in the divine transformation of Angulimala.In Balarampur two prominent archaeological sites, Jetavana and Savatthi are locally known. Balarampur district has a very rich literary heritage, famous Urdu poet Ali Sardar Jafri was born here. Form Balarampur approx 28km away from the most famous Hindu temple Devi Patan placed. Neel Bagh palace is also located inside the city. During the British era, Balrampur was one of the prominent states of the Avadh era.
